First season Ashes To Ashes is quite seriously ropey. I'm not sure why Keeley Hawes was so wooden, as she's usually better than that, though the scripts weren't doing her any favours. It gets a lot better once the plot about her family goes away, and the third season is at least as good as Life On Mars, I think.
