Sadly/morbidly/honestly a big part of why I want photos of my mom is that I want something tangible to remember her by after she's dead. The wedding photos I have of my maternal grandmother, who lived with us for a year (and we lived with her when I was a baby/toddler and we used to visit her regularly) consist of a wedding photo (of her wedding) and a photo of her very drunk comparing who has the hairiest legs with an unseen male family member. Some of the lack of photos might be due to FAMILY DRAMZ!!!!! but I think she avoided cameras for the most part.
