Some of our future moving plans realistically might involve moving out of the country to the former Yugoslavia (where my husband's dad is from) and there is NO WAY I'm paying to ship hundreds of books that far. We've already literally reduced our book collection by half prior to previous moves and that's part of what helps me let go of stuff. I just ask, do I want to move this? Do I want to carry this up stairs? Do I want to pay money to ship this? I'm invested in these books emotionally (I LOOOOOOOVE THEMMMMMMMM) and fiscally (they cost money, they will cost money to replace) but if I have to pay to ship them, or I have to pay extra in rent to afford an apartment big enough to store them, that's a continuing fiscal (and emotional!) cost.

If you do move to Chicago, we have a pretty decent library system AND you can borrow the books I do keep. :D
