I have such a deep loathing for Updike. All of his books are about women EXACTLY LIKE THIS except (usually) without the excuse of being Teh Evol Witches. Except for the other whole million of his books that are about boring used-car-salesman dudes in depressing towns who nonetheless get constant blowjobs all the damn time just because they're the hero and thus deserving of constant blowjobs.
