I was all set to take him to one park and then I found out that possibly all the equipment had been removed because it was dangerous and being replaced! But maybe it was still there and the new equipment was going someplace else! Or MAYBE IT WAS GONE! And it's like a mile away and I didn't feel like walking a 2 mile round trip for equipment that might or might not exist.
Then I was going to take him for a ride on the train (two stops) and a trip to a local park that has a slide he likes and also a wobbly bridge thing he will consent to go on, but then I chickened out and we just went to the front yard instead. Which I think was a good call because it was bright and sunny, but pretty chilly, and the cold makes his asthma worse.
AND YES HIS ASTHMA IS ANOTHER THING ABOUT WHICH I FRET.
PS we don't have wolves in Chicago (other than a sports team) but we DO have coyotes. Yes, in the actual city. I was going to post about that, but I grew up with coyotes wandering around in peoples' back yards and howling mournfully at night, and I'm not really afraid of them even though, you know, a coyote would totally eat me if he could, probably. But it was turning into kind of a long digression so I left it out.
WHAT IF THERE ARE WOLVES is kind of a good general shorthand, I think, for "what if something arises for which I am unprepared." HERE THERE BE DRAGONS. WHAT IF THERE ARE WOLVES.
