I do think "mommyblogs" and "mommmybloggers" tend to be judged more harshly because 1) they're women and they write about 2) womanly things (babies, children, parenting, teaching, poop-cleaning, household stuff, etc). One of the things that really reflects this is how women who write about their kids are called mommybloggers while men who write about the same thing are called parentbloggers. Mommy is diminutive and nickname-y and easy to dismiss, but parent is srs bzniss.
It's cool if people aren't interested in mommy/parenting blogs, just like it's cool that people aren't interested in techblogs or politics blogs or car blogs or whatever. But for the most part, I don't see the judgmental derision directed at other blogs that I see directed at mommyblogs.
