It's a community college in CA, don't know if that has any bearing.
At the time of his actions, the college somehow did not have any rules against teacher/student fraternizing. NO I DO NOT KNOW HOW THAT WAS POSSIBLE. Part of his "punishment" was writing the policy about teacher/student relationships. HOW. WHY.
I really think that the fact that he's a white man with an affluent and influential family is a big part of the reason he's not in jail and employed. He's a predator and he admits to it.
