There's a lot of rape. When there is not rape, there is a terrifying amount of incredibly dubious consent and information withholding. Mind, I only managed the first three books, and about the time that I threw up my hands, snarling, is about the time we finally heard more about what the shapeshifters really were, the coyotes, because the heroine is the Very Last of Her Kind, and not a were. (I still have no idea what the fuck she actually is. I'm not bothering to waste my spoons reading the books.)
