A little bit of you, a little bit of me
Feb. 15th, 2011 04:22 pmI was up a little late last night, coming to bed after Nesko and Niko has both fallen fast asleep. I felt around in the darkness for Niko’s body and found bits and pieces of it under my hands: a round arm, one knee pulled up, his other leg stretched out, his foot. He sleeps like I do– on his stomach, arms around a pillow, one leg a bit up and out, the other stretched out long. I cupped his heel in my hand, and it felt like Nesko’s foot in miniature, the same curves and lines and shape. Even the texture of his skin is the same. When he’s congested, he snores just like Nesko does, only on a lesser scale.
There’s bits and bobs of both of us, mixed together, in this toddler– in this human we created, are creating, are seeing take form under our hands and before our eyes.
It’s amazing.
