If you've got kids in CPS or pay attention to local news at all, you're probably aware that Emanuel is closing schools and laying off literally thousands of teachers, cutting school budgets, etc while also enlarging the pre-k program.
He's also apparently earmarked $55mil in tax money for a basketball arena for DePaul, and a hotel nearby.
Some North Side parents organized and are speaking out about it, and some North Side schools are getting $100k in extra money.
