One of our neighbors, either in the building or next door, has been barbecuing every single night it hasn’t rained for the past two or three weeks. We don’t have central air. We do have open windows. Do you see where I’m going with this?
The smell of deeeeeelishus meat cooked out in the open is drowned out and overwhelmed by the half bottle or so of lighter fluid they use each time, and a lot of smoke gets up in our apartment. I’ve been using my inhaler a LOT recently, and can sing barely a verse and a half of “London Bridge is Falling Down” before I’m out of breath. I used to dance competitively. I used to play trumpet. I used to have a really, really good lung capacity.
In other, less complain-y news I have come to the realization lately of just how badly I suck at taking photos of people. Good heavens. It’s so appalling it’s kind of hilarious. I’m also planning on hitting Kahawa again next Wednesday if any Chicago people want to join me.

Date: 2009-07-25 01:59 am (UTC)I had similar problems until I got C. to get one of those. And even so I have to holler at him about closing the door to the porch when we've got coals going.
